Professor Dimitri Nadirashvili is a Doctor of Psychology, an EAGT-accredited Gestalt therapist, and an EAP-certified psychotherapist. For his book Socio-Psychological Influence, he was awarded the Dimitri Uznadze State Scientific Prize.

Gestalt therapy was introduced to Georgia by Professor Dimitri Nadirashvili. In 2011, he founded the First Gestalt Therapy Institute (SEGI), which is currently the only European EAGT-accredited Gestalt psychotherapy training institute in Georgia and the Caucasus, having received EAGT accreditation in 2019.

Professor Dimitri Nadirashvili is the President of the EAGT umbrella organization, the Georgian Association of Gestalt Therapists (GAG). He serves on the Research Committee (RC) of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT) and is a full member of the International Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR). He also heads the Psychology program at St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University.

He is the author of the first original Georgian textbook on Gestalt therapy, Existential Gestalt Therapy (2007). The second textbook, Theory and Practice of Gestalt Therapy, was co-authored and published by Dimitri Nadirashvili and Tea Gogotishvili in 2018.

Together, Dimitri Nadirashvili and Tea Gogotishvili work on the scientific and practical integration of Dimitri Uznadze's 'Theory of Set' and Gestalt therapy. At the invitation of European professional organizations and institutions, they deliver lectures and workshops at various international conferences and promote the achievements and innovations of the Georgian school of psychology on the international stage.

Professor Dimitri Nadirashvili is the author of seven books and more than 50 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals. His research areas include social psychology, personality psychology, Dimitri Uznadze's 'Theory of Set', psychoanalysis, and Gestalt therapy.

He also works as a practicing psychotherapist with groups and individuals, as well as with couples, families, and athletes.
